The Cologne Cathedral "Kölner Dom" is one of the architectural masterpieces of mankind.
Declared a World Cultural Heritage Site as a perfect example of pure Gothic architecture, the Cologne Cathedral is the symbol of the metropolis on the Rhine.

And with about six million visitors a year, Germany's largest Cathedral is also the country's most popular architectural monument. Its size is emphasized by a gigantic pair of towers that dominated the city panorama since their completion in 1880. Still today, the Cathedral is the highest building after the telecommunications tower.

City of breweries

The number one drink in Cologne is the local "Kölsch" beer.
There are 26 different brands of Kölsch in Cologne, and the Kölsch Convention, signed in 1985, was established for the sole purpose of regulating which beers may be called Kölsch. For example, the agreement states that the beer must be brewed within Cologne or the surrounding area.

The best way to enjoy the top-fermented beer is in one of the many brewhouses. Here, visitors will also discover what hospitality in Cologne really means: openness, joy of live and humor.
