Valencia – historic sights and sandy beaches

This large Spanish city is in eastern Spain around 320 km from Madrid. It has a lot of historical sights and other attractions too. Right in the heart of Valencia you’ll find the cathedral next to the ‘Plaza de la Reina’ and the ‘Plaza de la Virgen’. The city’s two broad sandy beaches will entice you to try their bars and cafés while you’re relaxing in the sun. A must-see is ‘La Lonja’, the silk exchange, located in an old building, which plays host to concerts and other performances in the summer. The city will also be a hit with gourmets looking for sumptuous treats, such as the traditional Spanish paella. If you want to learn how to cook this traditional dish, you can go on one of the city’s many cooking courses.
