Nuremberg – a city with a long history
First documentary evidence of the city goes back to 1050 and under the Staufer and Luxembourg families Nuremberg became one of the most important cities in the Holy Roman Empire. In the 15th and 16th centuries became even more prominent through trade and handicrafts. Nowadays this Franconian city is a great tourist destination for holidaymakers from all over the world. Culture vultures will definitely think it’s worth a visit with over 30 museums and other places of interest to see, such as the Albrecht-Dürer House, the Church of our Lady (“die Frauenkirche “) or the ‘Goose-man fountain’ (“den Gänsemännchenbrunnen").
