You can check in online between 72 and 3 hours before departure. If you're flying from a German airport, you can check in online up to 30 minutes before departure (except from Friedrichshafen, Rostock-Laage and Frankfurt).
Passengers
When checking in online you can check in all passengers in your booking in one go. When checking in online please ensure you have spelt names exactly as they are in the booking confirmation or on your etix® ticket.
Possible departure airports
Check-in online is basically possible from all Germanwings airports with the exception of the following countries and departure airports, where it is unfortunately not yet available: Turkey, Moscow, Pristina, Sarajevo, Nador and Tunis.
Connecting flights can only be checked in online from German airports except Rostock-Laage and Friedrichshafen.
Web Check-In with luggage
If you only have hand luggage, you can go directly to the gate.
If you have luggage to be checked in or special luggage, please use the check-in desk. If you’re flying from Berlin, Cologne/Bonn, Hanover, Munich or Stuttgart airport, you can also hand in your luggage at the specific baggage drop-off desk.
Once you have checked in online you can only then register checked luggage at the check-in desk at the airport.

Check-In via mobile phone
As well as checking in online, you can use our Mobile Check-In from your mobile phone and have your boarding card sent directly to your mobile phone in an SMS or e-mail.
