Which trains can I use with the Rail&Fly online ticket?
The ticket allows second-class travel within Germany on all scheduled trains operated by Deutsche Bahn AG (InterCityExpress, InterCity, EuroCity, InterRegioExpress, RegionalExpress, RegionalBahn and S-Bahn (urban trains)). This includes IC and EC surcharges as well as ICE supplements.
As delays do sometimes occur, you should select your connection so that you arrive at the destination station no later than two hours before the flight leaves. Passengers are solely responsible for arriving on time at the airport. Germanwings cannot be held responsible if you do not manage to catch your plane due to the late arrival of a coach or train.
Tickets are not valid on Deutsche Bahn car transport trains, special trains, InterConnex, Cisalpino or non federally-owned trains (NE trains). On the ICE Sprinter and Deutsche Bahn night trains/CityNightLine services you must pay the standard surcharge.
Before departure you can reserve a seat at the station nearest to you or in any Deutsche Bahn travel agency. (Please check with Deutsche Bahn for fares.)
As well as Deutsche Bahn’s scheduled local and long-distance services you can also take the following public transport to your departure airport:
