Split: information about the way to and from the airport

Split is a favourite holiday destination thanks to its 1,700-year old history and many monuments. The highlight is Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by Emperor Diocletian in 295 A.D. The city and surroundings have numerous beaches, bathing and sports facilities. Car:

To get to the airport from the city centre take the motorway towards Rijeka. The secondary road via Solin and Kastela is also a quick way to get from Split to the airport, which is well signposted. Journey time is 45-60 minutes depending on traffic.

Bus:

There is a bus stop 100m from the main entrance of the airport. There are buses every 20 minutes to central Split.

Taxi:

There are taxis at the main entrance to the passenger terminal.

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve a car here and get great bargains.

Split International Airport is 20 km west of the city centre and has only one terminal. For on-site queries there is a tourist information desk.

Parking:

Split Airport has 300 parking spaces.
