Frequently asked questions

How much do children pay to travel with Germanwings?

Children under 2 who travel on an adult’s lap using a loop-belt can travel throughout Europe for a flat-rate fee of €15 per leg. On domestic German flights the fee is €17.85 (incl. 19% VAT) per leg. This rate is valid per leg and does not mean children have the right to a seat or baggage allowance.

For infants travelling in a child seat on their own separate seat and children between 2 and 11 we offer a reduction of a third of the flight fare not including taxes, fees and passenger-related charges. This does not apply to €19,99 all-inclusive tickets, blind booking flights or Flex fares. The same baggage provisions apply as for adults.

For children and young people over 11 the same fares and baggage provisions apply as for adults.
