How does Web Check-In work?

Go to the “Web Check-In” section of “My Bookings” on the Germanwings website to be able to check in passengers in your booking. You simply need the six-figure booking code or your etix® ticket number. Online you can check in everyone in your booking at the same time, even infants. When checking in online please ensure you have spelt your name exactly as it is in the booking confirmation or on your etix® ticket.

Please note that on the Germanwings website you can only check in for flights operated by Germanwings. For flights operated by Lufthansa please go to the Lufthansa Online Check-In.

With online check-in you can print out your boarding card up to three days before departure and also reserve a seat.

You can check in online at the earliest 72 hours before departure and at the latest 3 hours (at German airports, except Rostock-Laage, even 1 hour) before departure. Please note that you must be present at the departure gate at least 30 minutes (for flights from Tel Aviv: 45 minutes) before the scheduled departure time.

If you only have hand luggage, you can go directly to the gate. If you have special luggage or checked luggage, please use the check-in desks. At Berlin, Cologne/Bonn, Munich and Stuttgart airports you can also use the baggage drop-off desk, especially designed for depositing luggage.

You can also use the web check-in for golf equipment, bicycles, sports equipment such as bodyboards, surfboards, sailboards/hang-gliders, diving equipment, skis and snowboards, as well as excess luggage.

Please note that once you have checked in online you cannot subsequently add on extra services. To do this you must register any other checked luggage at the check-in desk at the airport.
