Can I take sporting equipment with me?
Larger sports equipment such as bicycles, skis or surfboards can be registered online in step 2 of the booking process or up to 3 hours before departure in the “My Germanwings” section online. Please click on “optional services” and enter the desired service for the outward and return legs. Click here for further information on adding sports equipment at a later date. You cannot register the carriage of sport weapons online. Please contact our call centre.
Bicycles can only be transported in a bike bag or cardboard box. The handlebars should be folded or removed. The pedals should also be removed and the tyres deflated.
Body and surfboards can only be transported in protective bags.
We levy a surcharge for the transportation of sports equipment. Click here to find out whether a surcharge is applicable and, if so, the amount.
We cannot accept unaccompanied luggage on any flight.
