The island with the feel-good climate

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands. Its balanced climate (rarely under 18 in winter or over 27 in summer) and varied landscape make it ideal both for lying on the beach or getting active. Families with children looking for a safe and relaxed bathing paradise should head northeast of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital, to Teresita beach with its fine golden Sahara sand and stone breakwater. Hikers should head to the Teno mountains in the west or the Anaga mountains and the Mercedes forest in the far east of the island. Not to miss either are the historic centre of La Laguna (UNESCO world heritage site), the Orotava Valley or the rocks at Los Gigantes!

Travelling to and from Tenerife Airport (TFS)

Car:
Tenerife South Airport has a direct exit onto the TF-1 motorway, the main link to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the south, east and north of the island.

Bus:
There are three bus services from Tenerife South Airport to the capital, Puerto de la Cruz and the beaches in the south. The bus stops are directly opposite the arrivals hall.

At Tenerife Airport (TFS)

Tenerife South Airport is 60km south of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital.

Parking:
The airport has a total of 806 parking spaces, 12 of which are reserved for passengers with reduced mobility.
