Jerez de la Frontera - sherry, horses and flamenco

Surrounded by vineyards Jerez de la Frontera is located within a 12 km distance from the Costa de la Luz. This Andalusian city is the centre of the sherry and brandy production and home to traditional Spanish flamenco. Next to numerous ‘bodegas’ and Spanish wineyards there are plenty other sights worth visiting. Including the historical town centre with the Cathedral of Jerez, the Alcázar and Arabian baths. Jerez is famous for its Royal Andalusian Riding School, its traditional corrida and the motorcycle racetrack, located about 10 km east from the city.

Travelling to and from Jerez de la Frontera Airport (XRY)

Car:

The airport is located about 12 km northeast from Jerez de la Frontera. Take the motorway A4, which will lead you onto the N-IVa and from there straight into the center of Jerez. The estimated travel time without traffic is 20 minutes. From there the Costa de la Luz is only another 15 minute drive away. The AP-4 will lead you directly to the capital of Andalusia, Seville, in just over an hour.

Rail:

The regional train (Renfe Cercanías) C1 takes you directly from the airport to Jerez, Cadiz, San Fernando and El Puerto Danta Maria. The estimated travel time to Jerez is only 10 minutes. Please consider to check the train schedule in advance for departure times.

Bus:

Currently there are three bus lines travelling to and from Jerez de la Frontera airport, the M-050, M-051 and the M-561. A ride into the centre of Jerez costs 0,85 € and takes approximately 30 minutes. By taking the M-050 you can reach Candiz within 90 minutes, the M-051 reaches El Puerto de Santa Maria after 45 minutes and with the M-561 you get to Costa Ballena in only 40 minutes. Taking the bus further than to Jerez will cost about 2,60 € per person.

Taxis will be waiting just out front of the arrival terminal. The estimated travel time without traffic is 20 minutes. The price for one ride into Jerez lies between 12 € and 17 €.

The airport of Jerez is located only 12 kilometers northeast out of town. It demonstrates one of the most important traffic junctions for the touristic developement of Cádiz.

Parking:

The garage P1 is located only a few meters out front of the terminal. It’s the ideal option to pick up arriving guests. In case you’re going on vacation or a business trip, P2 is the cheaper option. It offers personal security service and is located only 50 meters away from the terminal.
