Jerez de la Frontera is surrounded by vineyards, just 12 km from the Costa de la Luz. This Andalusian city is a centre for sherry and brandy production and home to flamenco. As well as the numerous ‘bodegas’, or Spanish wine cellars, other sights include the historical town centre with the Cathedral of San Salvador, the Alcázar and Arabian baths. Jerez is also famous for its Royal Andalusian Riding School, its traditional bullfights and the motorcycle racetrack 10 km east of the city.

Travelling to and from the airport Jerez de la Frontera

Car:

In July 2003 the carriageway leading to the airport from the N-IV was opened. From kilometre 5.2 on the N-IV motorway from Jerez to the airport there are now twice as many lanes. A ‘trumpet access’ to the airport was built over the N-IV. Moreover the connection to the N-346, which links the N-IV and the AP-4, has been rebuilt and extended. This was previously the road from the airport to the N-IV.

Local trains (Renfe Cercanías trains) connect Jerez de la Frontera Airport with Cadiz, San Fernando, Puerto Santa María and Jerez itself.

Jerez Airport lies within the limits of the municipality of Jerez, around 8 km northeast of the town. it is an important transport hub for tourist services in the province of Cadiz.
