Cagliari is the largest city in Sardinia, itself the second largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily. Cagliari’s old town is called the Castello and it lies on a hill overlooking the whole of the Gulf of Cagliari. Travelling to and from Cagliari Airport (CAG)

Car:

From Cagliari take superstrada SS554 west and then superstrada SS130 north. The airport is not far and has its own exit, marked “Aeroporto Elmas”.

Bus:

Buses from the ARST company operate direct services between Cagliari and the airport. The bus stop is outside the terminal to the left of the main entrance. Buses leave every 30 minutes and tickets must be bought beforehand from the ticket machine or the driver.

The taxi rank is outside arrivals. Fares to Cagliari are around 15 € .

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve a car here and get great bargains.

At Cagliari Airport (CAG)

Cagliari Airport is on the coast, 8 kilometres northwest of the city centre. It is Sardinia’s largest airport.

There are 42 check-in desks in the departure hall. Please follow indications as to which desks Germanwings uses.

Parking:

There are around 2000 fee-paying short and long-term parking spaces. Rates start at 1 € per hour depending on the location.
