Travelling to and from Bilbao Airport (BIO)

Car:

Bilbao Airport is c. 10 km northwest of the city centre and is well connected to the rest of northern Spain. The A8 goes west to Santander and east to San Sebastián, Irun and France. The AP68 goes to Vitoria, Logroño and Zaragoza, and on to Barcelona, Burgos and Madrid.

Bus:

Bizkaibus number A3247 leaves every 20-30 minutes from the terminal building to Plaza Moyua and Gran Vía in the centre of Bilbao. Journey time is around 30 minutes and costs €1.50. There are also bus connections from the airport to Zarautz and San Sebastián, and the Arrasate bus company operates services to Bergara and Eibar.

Taxi:

Taxis from the airport to the city centre cost around €25 and take around 15 minutes.

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve a car here and get great bargains.

At Bilbao Airport (BIO)

Bilbao Airport is around 10 km northwest of the city centre in Loiu. Over the past few years passenger flows have increased steadily and the airport now handles more than 3.8 million people and 2,500 tonnes of freight a year.

Parking:

The airport has several options for parking, allowing you to choose which best suits your needs and budget. P1 car park is just 100m from the terminal and has 2,924 spaces. P2, the long-stay car park, is on the departure level and is linked to the terminal by a covered walkway, a mere 5 minutes on foot.
