Zadar - Venetian spirit in the heart of Croatia

Zadar is situated in the south of Croatia on the Adriatic coast and the Zadar Canal on a narrow spit of land. The town which was fortified until 1873 was built in the Venetian style and has four gates, including the sea gate which includes part of a Roman victory arch. A walk along the seafront allows the visitor to discover the old town. The fishing port of Fosa and the four national parks in the area are also well worth a visit.

Travelling to and from Zadar Airport (ZAD)

Car:

The airport is 8km from central Zadar and connected to the A1 motorway.

Bus:

Germanwings passengers can take the GENE bus to Zadar. The bus leaves from outside the terminal building towards the centre. On the way back it leaves from the main bus station n Zadar.

Taxi:

There is a taxi rank at the airport near the bus stop. Tel: +385 (023) 25 14 00.

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve a car here and get great bargains.

At Zadar Airport (ZAD)

Zadar Airport is around 8km from the city centre and has one terminal. The information desk is open Mon-Sat 06:00-21:00 and Sun 08:00-22:00.

Parking:

There is one car park with around 250 spaces. The first 10 minutes are free.
