Stuttgart - Europe´s feel-good city

The city where the automobile was invented lies between rolling green hills and vineyards on the edge of the Black Forest. Travelling to and from Stuttgart Airport (STR)

Car:

Stuttgart Airport can be reached from exit 53 on the A8 and from the B27. Follow signs for "Ankunft" (arrivals) and "Abflug" (departures).

Suburban trains (S-Bahn):

From Stuttgart main station take lines S2 or S3 towards the airport. They take you directly to level 1 in Terminal 1. Journey time between Stuttgart main station and the airport is 27 minutes.

Bus:

Several bus lines connect the region with the airport. Buses stop in front of Terminal 1 on the arrivals level.

Taxi:

There are taxis in front of Terminal 1, level 3 (departure level) and journey time to the city centre is around 30 minutes. For journeys to and from places outside Stuttgart agree on a fixed price at the outset. Tel. for central taxi reservations in Stuttgart: (0711) 55 10 000.

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve a car here and get great bargains.

At Stuttgart Airport (STR)

Stuttgart Airport is around 25 km south-east of the city centre. Airport information counters can be found in Terminal 1, level 3 and in Terminal 3, level 3. Opening hours in Terminal 1 are 6:00 am – 8:00 pm and in Terminal 3 4:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Germanwings Airport Sales are open Monday to Friday from 5:00 am – 6:45 pm, on Saturadys from 5:00 am – 4:00 pm and on Sundays from 6:30 am – 7:00 pm. For departures outside these opening hours the Airport Sales desk is staffed 2 hours before the departure (except public holidays).

There are many parking facilities at Stuttgart Airport.
