Travelling to and from Istanbul Sabiha Airport (SAW)

Car:

From the airport to the city centre take the E6 motorway. Journey time is around 30-60 minutes.

Bus:

A regular shuttle bus connects the airport with the city centre and the Istanbul Atatürk International Airport (journey time around 30-45 minutes/60-70 minutes respectively).

Sea bus:

You can also take sea buses, which stop at Pendik, 4km away.

Rail:

The nearest station is in Pendik, around 4 km from the airport.

Taxi:

Taxis and shared taxis (dolmus) to Istanbul are available around the clock. Journey time to the city centre is around 40 minutes.

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve a car here and get great bargains.

At Istanbul Sabiha Airport (SAW)

The second international airport in Istanbul was opened at the beginning of 2001 and is named after the first female Turkish fighter pilot, Sabiha Gökçen. The airport has state-of-the-art technology and is located 20 km east of the Asian part of Istanbul, 45 km east of the European part of the city.

It has an international and domestic terminal. The information counter is in the arrivals hall in the international terminal.

There are car parks at both terminals.
